Picture of Lucy Loomoo
This is Lucy's country a long way south of Balgo close to Punmu in the Great Sandy Desert. This country is called Nyakungtjuungku and is part of the artist's dreaming. The lines represent tali (sand dunes) that dominate the area. Loomoo says this country is rich with bush tucker.

This is Lucy's country a long way south of Balgo close to Punum in the Great Sandy Desert. This country is called Nyakungtjuungku and is part of the artist's dreaming. The central circle is a tjurrnu, or soakwater, known as inta, or "living water" as it always holds fresh water. Loomoo says this country is rich with bush tucker. The dotting surrounding the circle represents these bush foods including kantilli or pura (bush tomato).

Lucy has depicted some of her country south of Balgo, along the middle stretches of the Canning Stock Route. This country here is called Yirnangarri after the prominent warniri (rockhole) depicted in thecentre of the this painting. This warniri is an inta or "living water" because it has always been a reliable source of water. The many parallel lines represent the tali (sandhills) that dominate Lucy's country.
