Wakartu Ngarralja Tommy May is an important painter at the Mangkaja Arts Center at Fitzroy Crossing, Western Australia. He is a past Chairman at Mangkaja and is currently an executive for the Association of Northern Kimberley and Arnhem Aboriginal Artists (ANKAAA). Tommy dances and sings Kurtal, a ceremony relating to a main jila (living waterhole) in his country. Both he and his wife, Dorothy, are producing beautiful and interesting work at Mangkaja.
