Picture of Bruce Njamme
This beautiful, oversized painting depicts Bruce's father's country, known as Mungai, south of Yagga Yagga in the Great Sandy Desert. Mungai is country familiar to many painters in Warlayirti, many whose parents and grandparents came from this area. The Great Sandy Desert is a huge expanse (141,000 square miles) dominated by spinifex, and many kinds of desert lizards, birds, and other animials that are part of the Dreamings of Warlayirti artists.

USD $5000
Bruce Njamme is an emerging artist painting out of the Warlayirti Arts Center located in Balgo Hills, Western Australia, one of the most important Aboriginal art centrers in Australia. The community is located on the northern edge of the Tanami and Great Sandy Deserts and is one of the most isolated of Australia's desert settlements. Bruce paints his family's country. His distinctive style includes the use of contrasting small dots that change with the viewer's perspective and modulations in light.
