Ken Shepherd was born near Warburton and paints out of the Warakurna Arts Center. He is among a group of exciting and innovative emerging artists represented at Warakurna, a remote community situated in the Ngaanyatjarra lands on the Great Central Road approximately 330 km from Uluru. The township consists of approximately 180 people and is nestled among the spectacular Rawlinson Ranges.
