This aquatint etching was made by Glen Farmer Illortaminni in connection with his travel to Sydney to study printmaking. Glen Farmer Illortamini was born on 19 September, 1971, between the Mango and Mulana trees where the last old house was standing at Milikapiti. He grew up in Milikapiti and went to the local school. Glen began as an artist with Jilamara Arts and Craft in 1994. The Australian Print Workshop conducted a workshop at the arts center, where Glen learned how to etch and do linoblocks. He used black ink on white paper to create a seagull on a tutini (pukamani pole). Since then, Glen has had a number of commissions to create carvings of the creation story of Jinani and Bima as well as participating in group exhibitions. Glen has been exhibiting his work since 1996, and he is represented in major public collections such as the National Gallery of Australia. (Jilamara Arts and Craft, August 2006).
